Week Seven: Endnote Libraries

Today’s lecture, ‘Endnote libraries’, covered four questions; What is endnote?, How does Endnote work? , and why use Endnote?

Following this there was a detailed step by step example shown with screens shots in the power point presentation on how to use Endnote.

In the LAB we were introduced to the program Endnote.

We began by configuring it to Microsoft Word. We then put into action evrythign we learnt in tne lecture, through finding 5 sources and refernecing them according to the online referencing guide and the ECU standards of APA 5th. At this point in time i am working on a critical Review for UPCOOO3; so here are five sources correctly referenced;

Books:

  • McLean S. (1997) The Case for Physician Assisted Suicide. San Francisco: Harper Collins
  • Battin M. P. (1994). Least Worst Death. New York: Oxford University Press

Websites:

Journals/Articles:

  • Life issues institution. (2000). AMA: anti-euthanasia, pro-pain control. American Medical Association.

The next exercises for the LAB was an endnote exercises. This excercise was to show us how to use the referencing program. A MS document walked us through the process of entering certain detail into the Endnote program ans then how to insert a citation into a word document. This lesson taught me how to reference in-text and end-text all on the computer, automatically.

This is a screen shot of the completed Endnote exercises.

Today's lesson, was extremley beneficial, and I know I will use the Endnote program in this course and the rest of my Univeristy degree. I learnt in-text and end-text refernecing, inserting citations. Automatically how to refernce. Discering wheteher there is enough information about a source, and if it is credible. Skills all in which will be definetley be put into pratice in the next upcoming weeks.
