Week Eight: Presentation Stratedgies

This week’s module is about presentation strategies. There are different types of presentations. Oral and written are the main two categories, but today’s lecture covered four main points; Structure of a presentation, preparation for presentation delivery, how to use Microsoft PowerPoint on Vista and strategies to giving an impacting presentation. We learn that though were not necesarily taught how to give an impacting presentation, it is a skill worth listing on your resume, Óral presentation skills'. This module covers everything we will need to know in order to obtain this skill.

This was beneficial because in UPC0001, Learning at University, we will be giving an oral presentation with the aid of a powerpoint presentation. So this module was benificial in that way.

The workshop today began with browsing through a website about how to deliver a great oral presentation with the guide of a powerpoint presentation.

With the help of a website titled, 'Online resources for how to prepare and deliver a presentation' i have created a 'Top 5'stratedgies to deliver a impacting presentation

1. Enthusiasm is essential, use humour but use it wisely
2. Planning and preparation is vital
3. Pay attention to the type of audience you will present in front of, ensure your presentation is tailored towards them.
4. Keep your presentation slides simple, don’t overload with information
5. Take your time!

After this we put we learnt into action by creating a powerpoint presentation, on how to deliver a low impact presentation... (Click on images to enlarge.)
